Job Description
The Head of Manufacturing will be the leader of a large manufacturing facility in Norfolk they will be responsible for:
• All Manufacturing which includes up to 8 direct senior manufacturing reports and a facility that could offer indirectly 500+ on headcount
• Leading the business in a safe manner putting the HSE agenda at the top of everything else
• Defining and implementing production objectives. Analysing the annual production capacity and comparing it with the company’s commercial forecasts
• Coaching direct reports to improve individual, as well as team, performance, ensuring appropriate, constructive and frequent feedback is maintained
• Engaging and leveraging technical, quality, supply chain and HR resources as required.
• Producing relevant and appropriate reports providing data, commentary, and narrative as
required to customers, key stakeholders, and accountable functions
• Being fully accountable for the sites success both internally and externally
• Being a strong leader in order to animate and engage teams around a common goal, whilst knowing how to delegate wisely and adapt quickly
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will be:
• Degree Educated – a technical discipline preferred but will except others if relevant
• An understanding and passion for high paced manufacturer
• A background in high regulatory environments would be preferred but not essential – Health care, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, Plastics or Food
• A committed approach to coaching and mentoring a Senior Manufacturing team
• Experience of delivering a strategic plan
• A clear communicator at all levels, who builds strong trust.
• Six sigma certification to green belt minimum would be advantageous
• An understanding of how to thrive in a matrix structure
