An FMCG company based in Northamptonshire are recruiting for a Head of Manufacturing position, this crucial role holds accountability for production, engineering, facilities and hygiene.
The Role
Head of Manufacturing responsibilities:
Management responsibility for 5 direct reports within engineering, production and hygiene
Contribute as a member of the operations leadership team and also promote company core values
Maximise the return on investment made in machinery, materials and people by managing the production resources of the company
Make sure that the company production plan is achieved and communicated in a timely manner
Manage budget and costs across manufacturing as per forecast and seek opportunities to reduce costs and minimise waste
Ensure hygiene operations are upheld and comply with all current legislation within the operation
Act as a departmental project manager within performance improvement projects, new building and production layout
Lead and performance manage the team members and ensure performance reviews are undertaken as well as training
You are responsible for effectively implementing, communicating and maintaining a food safety culture
The Person
As the Head of Manufacturing:
Hold a management qualification and a health & safety qualification
A basic food hygiene certificate is required
A relevant Degree is desirable
A continuous improvement qualification or relevant experience is highly desirable
Hold significant experience of managing a food production area or unit
Clear experience of cost control monitoring systems
Experience working with a factory that produces ambient food products
Numerically sound with a good understanding of manufacturing data
