My client is a niche plastic injection and rubber moulding manufacturer with an enviable reputation in their market. Supplying quality products on a tier one basis, they work with global customers through the General Manufacturing and Automotive market. They are looking to recruit a forward-thinking Head of Operations to define and deliver a sound operational strategic vision, drive excellence and to lead as a true figurehead within the business.
Your duties & responsibilities will include the following:
• Define, implement and sustain a cost effective and appropriate operating model
• Ensuring that production culture, processes, equipment, facilities and the working environment are all conducive to delivering high quality products
• You’ll ensure that non-value-added activity is reduced in all manufacturing processes by using lean techniques
• Promoting a culture of high employee engagement and motivation
• Be able to delegate efficiently
• Deliver operational KPIs whilst simultaneously further developing a culture of continuous improvement that demonstrate their value to the business
• Leading by example, managing, training and developing people
• Suggest innovative ideas to the board on improvements that can lead to greater efficiency and business growth
We are looking for the following:
• A dynamic leader who has experience of leading Operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Your knowledge through management and operations should include Design, Engineering, Production, Planning & Supply Chain
• A thorough understanding of modern lean manufacturing principles, evidenced by a track record of OTIF delivery and outstanding quality
• The ability to engage the team by introducing effective visual management systems and meaningful KPIs
• Significant people management and leadership experience with a real passion for coaching, training and mentoring
• A driven individual who is comfortable working across all levels of the business in order to make things happen
