Our specialist distribution and manufacturing of food processing equipment company is looking for a Head of Operations to be responsible for daily activities across functions including Spare Parts, Sales & Service Administration, Warehouse, H&S, IT and Facilities. Accountable for designing policies, managing customer service and implementing technology solutions with continued improvement. Self-motivation and motivating team members are a key element of the role, whilst leading with an analytical and strategic mind and maintaining a broad knowledge of the business. Committed to productivity and compliance and ultimately, ensuring our operations run smoothly, that people are productive and continually promoting our customer image.
Personal Specification
• As Head of Operations, you will play a vital role in delivering a great customer experience to all our customers. You will have a keen eye for detail, an organised approach and a willingness to exceed our customer expectation.
• Operating on the front line, you will be the real ambassador of our company, and be committed to consistently delivering high standards.
• You will be a hardworking individual with the ability to work on your own initiative and be a key player in supporting, managing and motivating the company’s departmental managers.
• You must have had experience at Operations level within a quality establishment and will have a proven track record in delivering customer service excellence in a highly competitive market.
• You will be able to demonstrate an ability to provide inspirational leadership in the absence of the Directors, motivating and developing team members to contribute towards the overall success of the business.
• You will be able to deliver results, maximising profits through sales and yield, whilst exploiting opportunities for growth within the business.
• This will be a senior position within our company, assuming overall responsibility in the absence of the Directors and you will be required to be flexible in your approach to driving performance in a 24/7 business.
What you’ll need to succeed
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience as Head of Operations, Operations Manager, Operations Director or similar leadership role.
• Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, supply chain and IT.
• Experience with implementing IT systems.
• Knowledge of data analytics and reporting.
• Good with numbers and financial planning.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated with excellent organisational and leadership ability.
• Analytical mind.
• Problem-solving aptitude.
• BSc/BA in Business, Computer Science or another relevant field.
