The business has made some positive steps through a tough 2020 and want to increase their focus on Health and Safety at their site in the East Midlands.

Job Description
The successful Health and Safety Manager will be a key figure in driving safe practices across the facility
They will also:
• Work proactively with managers and leaders across the organisation to establish and maintain a behavioural health and safety culture
• Provide advice on Health and Safety policy, practices and regulations to ensure compliance with the law and delivery of the company’s Health and Safety strategy.
• Provide direct management and leadership of any part were Health and Safety expertise is required
• Be the main contact with UK statutory enforcement bodies (i.e. Health & Safety Executive, Environmental Health Officers).
• Construct regular reports on Health and Safety performance, analyse data and provide comments/recommendations to ensure continual improvement in Health and Safety performance
• Provide suitable risk assessment methodology across the business to ensure all hazards are identified and appropriate risk control measures are implemented
The Successful Applicant
• NEBOSH Diploma / Health and Safety Degree or NVQ level 5 equivalent is expected
• A background in a heavy engineering environment or process background would be advantageous
• A hands-on approach is essential for this role
• Background in improving a manufacturing culture on safety would be advantageous
• Excellent communication skills at a range of levels (written and verbal)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• High knowledge of Health and Safety Law, Health and Safety Policies / Procedures / acknowledged best practice
• Ability to interpret legislation in the context of the business
