Job Description
As the HR Manager (high growth SME manufacturing business) for our client in Oxford, you will support the HR Director in creating the strategy to align with business goals, leading the HR function and managing the HR Team. The business is continuing to grow significantly and they have strong employee engagement, winning a place in the Times Top 100 for the last two years.

This HR function is the culture creator and the glue that helps to drive the people and the business.

You will be responsible for delivering operational excellence to all the stakeholders across the business. This role will require the successful applicant to regularly work in the Oxford office alongside other HR team members.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting and advising the business on employee relations issues including, but not limited to, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance management.
Manage and develop the HR Service Team and ensure that the team provide an effective and efficient HR service, responding promptly to queries.
Advise managers on management practice and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Ensure that policy, procedures and forms are up to date, in line with current legislation and maintained according to our quality standards.
Ensuring the HRM system, employee files and relevant trackers are maintained and up to date.
Ensure all employees have the right to work and support in the renewal and obtainment of visa and sponsorship requirements as needed.
Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including, but not limited to, induction and onboarding, contractual changes, development, benefits and leaver process.
Support with the annual salary review process.
Participate in HR project work as required.
Support the wider HR team as needed.

The preference is for this person to work on-site the majority of the time; there will be some flexibility to work from home.

The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this HR Manager (high growth SME manufacturing business) role, it is imperative that you have demonstrable HR experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

You will have gravitas, credibility, and a strong HR knowledge to liaise with and offer guidance to stakeholders.

This role will cover a variety of projects including, retention, developing our current talent, employee relations issues and lots of recruitment.

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in HR strategy and developing this so experience in this area is highly desirable.

CIPD qualified to level 5 or above, ideally level 7.
Significant HR experience in a generalist role.
Experience of managing and advising on employee relations activities including, but not limited to, performance management, grievances, disciplinaries, absence management.
Up to date knowledge of employment law.
Experience managing and developing a team.
Competent in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to deal with difficult situations positively.
Drive and commitment to making things happen.
Willing to challenge when required.
Proven problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build relationships at all levels.
A collaborative team player.
