My client is a design-led engineering company creating bespoke vehicles for major OEMs. With many years of experience in the motorsport sector, they now specialise in commercial vehicles, producing some striking designs. The business is currently going through a major growth phase having developed partnerships with several major global OEMs.

In order to continue the current growth cycle through a strategy of expansion and diversification, the company seeks anĀ Interim Sales and Marketing Director.

The Interim Sales and Marketing Director will be responsible for leading and expanding the sales function into new target markets with a specific emphasis on international markets and new product offerings. To prepare annual marketing plans, create a calendar of campaigns and events, set the marketing budget, and analyse the market and competitors. To lead a high performing sales marketing and customer service team that drives a high-quality customer experience.

Responsibilities:

Create strong relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid management levels.
Responsible for acquiring and achieving annual conversion sales targets for different regions and markets.

Accurately forecasting and projecting expected conversion sales volume and profit for existing and new products and markets.

Determine annually the quantity of sales conversions and gross profit plans by implementing marketing strategies, analysing trends, and results.

Drive the marketing strategy and develop and drive brand awareness and positioning within an agreed established budget.

Develop and recommend product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share and company profitability.

Report regularly to business directors, updating on progress against strategy and revenue targets as well as presenting rolling revenue forecasts on which the business will plan accordingly.

Analyse the market sector and strategy of competitors to optimise best route to market reducing entry into market lead times where possible.

Optimise aftersales performance and provide excellent customer service levels.

Improve the customer journey and operational effectiveness.
Lead, coach and develop the sales, marketing and customer service team to ensure high performance outputs.

About you:

Excellent inter-personal skills with the proven ability to establish and maintain a strong network of contacts and clients.
Excellent written communication skills, confidence in presenting and negotiating with all levels of management.

Commercially driven with the numerical ability to drive margins, pricing, and profits.

Experience working in the Automotive sector is essential.

Experience of vehicle conversion sales is preferred.

Previous experience in as Head/Director of sales, with strong commercial knowledge

Proficient at analysing data, building reports and making strategic recommendations.

Energetic, persuasive, and well organised.

In depth knowledge and hands on experience of working with CRM and ERP systems.

A hands on and leading from the front approach, comfortable working in an SME environment

Ideally educated to Degree level in business administration or marketing.
