An innovative and pioneering EV tech company are seeking a Lead Engineer – (Electric Machines and Power Electronics). In this position you will be involved at all stages of the design and development of a new global EV/ City Car. You will liaise directly with customers, partners, suppliers and other engineering teams to provide and deliver effective engineering solutions. Responsible for the inception, development and release of electronic system designs across a broad range of company projects.

The Role
As the Lead Engineer (Electric Machines and Power Electronics) you will be:
Working on hybrid or electric vehicle programmes.
Design and produce high voltage power converters and/or inverters
Design and produce e-machines for protype production
DFM, and design and verification for EMC compliance
Live working and testing of high voltage systems (60V to 1kV)
Use of standard automotive diagnostics and calibration tools
Applied embedded and model-based software skills

The Candidate
As the Lead Engineer (Electric Machines and Power Electronics) you will be:
Degree qualified in an Engineering or Science related discipline as a minimum; ideally Chartered or working toward Chartership status
Several years of experience successfully supporting projects in an electronic engineering environment either in an OEM or Tier 1, working on production or R&D programmes
Experience of designing and validating analogue, digital and power electronics circuits; ideally for automotive, high voltage and high current applications
Experience of E/E component integration, design & development on production products and subsystems.
Familiarity with systems engineering processes from requirements capture through to design validation of vehicle subsystems
Experience working on hybrid or electric vehicle subsystems and components e.g. battery systems, inverters, DC/DC converters etc.
Experience in compliance engineering to electric vehicle regulations and external standards
A history of interfacing with external parties (e.g. customers or suppliers) for dealing with technical queries and resolving technical issues.
