A leading UK Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing Technical Centre are seeking multiple experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support their industrial R&D and scale up processes. It is quite possible that these skills don`t yet exist within the immature UK Lithium-ion Battery industry, so we are looking for “near neighbour” technologies. The Role

To carry out research and testing of Battery Cells/ Modules / Pack (Pouch and Cylindrical) to support the ramp up into series productions and the associated activities, with reference to: Process Equipment Commissioning; Quality Management and Process Control.
To provide specialist technical recommendations, practical tools and design resolution advice for manufacturing and quality performance within the project, particularly on testing and verification.
To share information with colleagues and customers, and provide recommendations.
To manage research aspects of the project including contributing to academic publications, technical reports and other presentations and dissemination methods
To assist with the development and delivery of teaching and training materials to disseminate the research findings in a format that will encourage successful implementation.
To identify, operate and install suitable equipment to support the project objectives. Carrying out suitable tests to evaluate the equipment performance effect on product to push forward the boundaries of current knowledge in each topic area. Running on a campaign strategy.
To monitor and record deliverables during research and production & identify routes for achievement of quality targets.

The Candidate

Experience with High Speed/ High Volume Manufacturing
The Manufacturing Engineers will have a good honours degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management Systems, Metrology etc.).
A willingness to carry out experimental work in a Laboratory environment.
You will have a good understanding of manufacturing engineering and industrial automation (preferably Battery cell assembly processes) within high value industries e.g.: pharmaceutical, food, tobacco, automotive, nuclear.
The Manufacturing Engineers will have experience in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation specific to Battery Cell Manufacture or comparable processes
Taking R&D principals and moving to first implementation within a “real world” environments.
Experience in QMS Accreditation e.g. TS-16949, ISO-9001.
