Due to continued expansion a leading aerospace group is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join is operations in Devon. Manufacturing complex engineered components this division has seen significant investment and the successful appointment will have overall responsibility for NPI, capital investment, business improvement, engineering projects and the continuous improvement program. Candidates must have previous experience working in precision engineering with aerospace experience a preferable but not essential.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will direct and coordinate all manufacturing engineering operations with overall responsibility for planning, organisation control, engineering projects and will be accountable for ensuring technical support in new programs (NPI), existing projects and the business continuous improvement program.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate all aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI)
Optimise process capability to drive improvements
Develop the skills and capabilities of the manufacturing engineering team to comply with customer and business requirements
Develop capable processes and standard work within manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operations
Partner with corporate engineering group and centre of excellence based in the EU to drive company wide best practices.
Ensure coordination with other departments to develop a unified approach for processing new products or improving existing products
Manage the engineering budget, develop capital investment plans for technology and expansion of existing capabilities

The Candidate

Bachelor`s Degree (preferred in Engineering)
Experience in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong influencing and leadership skills with ability to inspires and motivate others
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
Ability to prioritise responsibilities under pressure
Ability to use technology effectively and efficiently to manage workload
Must be able to travel when required
