Due to the award of new projects and company growth a global leading engineering group supplying the aerospace, defence & energy sectors has a new vacancy for an Engineering Manager. Candidates are sought with a good understanding of machining processes, aerospace standards and as experienced Engineering Manager you will place an emphasis on quality, NPI and process improvement.
The Role
Working for a globally recognised engineering group this division supplies precision machined components to the aerospace, defence & energy sectors. You will manage the industrialisation of existing and new products / processes in line with customer requirements by identifying and implement engineering best practice, manage capital expenditure projects and the introduction of new products.
Key responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to ensure product functionality, quality, cost and delivery
Manage capital investment requirements
Champion and manage specific improvement projects to deliver Quality, Cost, Delivery and People Objectives
Manage the New Product Introduction process
Lead & develop the Manufacturing, quality & engineering team
Manage a TPM schedule for all plant and machinery to minimise breakdowns
Review project and order specifications to determine design criteria and special requirements.
Manage the acquisition of new equipment
The Person
Candidates are sought with experience working in a precision machining environment with a good understanding of aerospace standards and processes. With a strong emphasis on continuous improvement you will have a demonstratable background in process improvement, Capex expenditure and developing employees.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate customer focus and manage change efficiently within large fast-paced manufacturing.
