The Client & Role
SME Manufacturing business, part of a global group is looking for an experienced hands-on operations manager. This is a brand new, senior appointment, reporting directly to the MD of this growing SME sized manufacturing business and it will be a role which has a global remit, looking at warehouse and supply chain here at the UK HQ but also at global sites.
Let’s be clear – this is a hands-on role – yes there are small teams to manage and develop in the warehouse, buying and service departments but it will be all encompassing when it comes to operations. From standard operating procedures, stock and inventory control, global logistics and shipping to working with production in the far east with capacity planning, sales forecasting and strategic growth plans.
The Candidate
A team player- someone who can roll their sleeves up in the warehouse function, no job too small but at that same time drive the strategic operations and supply chain of this SME business. We want someone who has a good level of emotional intelligence, is able to drive teams in the right way, is confident in looking at the bigger picture and set standards across the global offices. Excel spreadsheets have their place, but we are looking for a doer, a completer – someone with the ability to look at all aspects and be able to put together a roadmap of delivery and improvements.
We are looking to engage with candidates who have a strong operational and supply chain background, global exposure especially with the far east/ China manufacturing and a proven track record of improving stock, inventory, and warehouse systems in a fast-paced environment.
