Your new company 
You will be working for a well known and established organisation within their offices based in East Kent. The Procurement Manager job is a challenging role for someone who is used to managing a team, being hands on and putting new processes in place. The company are looking into flexible working with the possibility of some home working. Typical hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm and Friday 8 to 1:30.

Your new role 
You will be responsible to manage all direct and indirect procurement activities, and be responsible for all aspects of procurement activity associated with procuring a designated range of goods at optimum cost, delivered on time and to the required quality standard. You will be responsible for the management and performance of the buying team of 6. You will effectively manage all aspects of supplier relationships in a strategic manner to ensure continuity of supply whilst ensuring commercial terms are suitable for the long term aims. You will encourage a competitive and varied supply market by applying best practice tools and techniques to analyse spend and gain maximum strategic and tactical advantage. You will promote Supplier Relationship Management and actively engage with key suppliers to address issues and identify potential opportunities to further develop collaboration and deliver continuous improvement of supplier performance (e.g. Costs, Service and Quality). You will have a strong focus on contract management, managing both tender and negotiation processes for new contracts and contract renewals.

What you’ll need to succeed 
You will be and have recent experience as a Procurement Manager of a team of at least 5 which has included coaching and developing the team in all aspects of effective vendor management and relationship management. You will be MCIPS qualified and ideally from a manufacturing or engineering type organisation, ideally in a regulated environment. You will have a proven track record in delivering cost savings, change management and continuous improvements to processes. You will have excellent skills in relationship building and stake holder management. You will be an excellent negotiator and influencer
