An FMCG business in Kent is recruiting for a Procurement Manager, on a full-time, permanent basis. You will purchase goods for the company to achieve satisfactory cost and also meet customer requirements, whilst maintaining adequate stock levels.
The Role
• Develop and maintain relationships with all strategic suppliers
• Negotiate purchasing contracts for all key raw materials and packaging
• Research new products in line with both the business and customers’ specified requirements
• Monitor market trends where possible to ensure goods are being procured at the correct price
• Monitor stock levels on the company stock system to ensure optimum ordering of required raw materials and packaging
• Utilise reports within the stock system ensuring production plans and stock levels are monitored to optimise ordering and stock levels held
• Monitor raw material usage on seasonal lines against production recipes and liaise with production managers to minimise wastage from production
The Person
• Experience in a purchasing/procurement role within an FMCG industry
• Have experience managing a small team of direct reports
• Able to communicate with people at all levels
• A confident communicator who can manage all aspects of the supply chain
• Ideally be experienced in the procurement of raw materials/ingredients and packaging
• Have previously worked in a food or FMCG production environment
