Specialist within the construction arena with a rapidly growing market share and reputation for excellence in delivery, they are seeking a Production Director to lead their manufacturing and production capability. This is a permanent role offering excellent professional development.

The Role

The Production Director will have full responsibility for the manufacturing and production department and includes production programming of product through manufacturing facility, material and people scheduling and people management and development. You will lead and promote excellence in team management in addition to driving a spirit of continuous improvement and a right-first-time ethos.

The Production Director will have responsibility for production quality reporting and improvement for both internal and supplier considerations and will lead production health & safety reporting and best practice across the manufacturing facility.

You will support the identification and selection of new plant machinery and seek opportunities to sensibly implement the latest manufacturing technologies including factory automation and smart systems.

The Production Director will foster and promote a positive working culture and identify and create measurable and achievable production goals and metrics for the manufacturing facility.

The Person

The Production Director will ideally possess experience in the construction products sector including products and systems such as modular/offsite building, integrated building solutions and digitally partnered products for the construction sector.

You will hold a relevant higher-level qualification and demonstrate proven senior leadership experience in fast-paced manufacturing operation. The Production Director will have previously led a manufacturing operation including production, quality, health and safety and operations. You will have experience in developing and creating excellent leadership teams and be able to offer expert guidance and support to the production management teams, facilitating their ongoing professional development.

The successful candidate will have also led or worked in close partnership with engineering, procurement and supply chain teams in a manufacturing context and enjoy the challenge of delivering a world class product and service to customers. A high level of commercial awareness is required for the role with particular emphasis on defining and developing production/operational profit and loss/budget plans.
