A Senior Production Engineer / Production Manager is required to join this world class organisation to support the development and new introduction of bespoke products made from polyurethane on a Permanent Basis to support the development, improvement and waste elimination within the manufacturing operations. The company are leaders in their field and are seeing significant growth which has resulted in a new facility set up, hence the new opportunity.
The Senior Production Engineer / Production Manager is an integral part of the Production Engineering Team and will help deliver solutions and projects to clients whilst contributing to the overall site performance and efficiencies.
Responsibilities and experience required of the Senior Production Engineer / Production Manager:
• Increase manufacturing productivity across all production processes
• Develop processes that will be in line with the business’s strategic ambitions
• Liaise with supplier representatives to ensure latest technology and consumables are understood and utilised
• Drive process and quality efficiency
• Installation of new plant equipment specifically covering polyurethane cast and extraction equipment
• Assist the Product Development Team in the development and design of new products and tooling
• Lead / attend engineering / technical review meetings
• Help build a culture of continuous improvement supervising workshop staff
• Expertise in the development of products and processes using Polyurethane
• Lead NPI, through the procurement of production equipment and ancillaries, while supporting launch programs
• Manage first off production trials with the operations and quality teams
• Support the production teams on daily issues ensuring plant/processes remain operational
• Lead all H&S activities within the production facility to ensure safe working environment
Qualifications, requirements & experience required by the Senior Production Engineer / Production Manager:
• Strong leadership qualities within a production environment in a Process, Production or Manufacturing related role
• Knowledge of polyurethane casting processes and general moulding principles, compressions moulding and injections mould within PU
• Ability to work with product teams to devise new manufacturing processes, tooling and procedures to meet customer and market demands
• Awareness of driving lean manufacturing tools and techniques
• Good problem solving tools especially during production trials and new product launch activities
• Managing production based H&S processes to ensure a safe working environment
• Quality tools and advanced product quality planning techniques
• Supplier management and selection to ensure supplied materials and chemicals meet quality standards
