A major UK Automotive OEM require a Purchasing Manager (Electrical) to analyse and identify strategic development within the market. The successful candidate will be have solid experience within the Automotive industry along with a strong understanding of business drives and marketplace dynamics.

The Role

The Purchasing Manager (Electrical) will provide a single point of accountability for sourcing performance in relation to electrical components, and requires a high degree of product and market focus. This means an ability to drive improvement through demand and specification based initiatives as well as through more traditional purchasing based activity e.g. negotiation. The role should consider the internal costs of managing suppliers and supply chains, including working capital, and the cost of poor quality and delivery performance.

The Purchasing Manager (Electrical) is responsible for ensuring the total cost of acquisition of goods and services are considered and improved, and that potential supply chain risks are formally identified, minimised and mitigated. Responsible for developing strategies that will benefit the wider organisation by working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Providing suitable measures of performance, contractual terms and conditions, cost driver analysis and supply chain risk management are effective and improved through a culture of continuous improvement and cost reduction.

The Candidate

The Purchasing Manager (Electrical) will have a solid knowledge of Automotive Products and Services with the ability to analyse market trends and make strategic judgement call on Product development.
You must have a strong level of understanding in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office applications and MRP systems.
Being educated to degree level in a relevant Business / Engineering / Marketing / Finance subject area is desirable but not essential.
