Your new role
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Manager on a full time, permanent basis within North East Lincolnshire. As a key member of the purchasing team, you will be responsible for driving purchasing initiatives within the organisation and strategically manage all purchasing activities (direct & indirect). THis would include ensuring suppliers are managed and key relationships established; this will include managing existing supplier performance (KPI’s) as well as looking at sourcing and onboarding new suppliers when required. You will also be heavily involved in working with key business stakeholders and ensuring raw materials are at the required levels for manufacturing and sales orders.
Key responsibilities include
• Establishing strong supplier relationships to improve supply conditions and performance
• Establishing a commercial focussed purchase function
• Conduct Risk assessment analysis and audits on supplier base and formalise a rating reporting process
• Strong collaborations with New Product Introduction programs to achieve best value in BOM’s.
• Cost negotiation and benchmarking activity to target and achieve ongoing cost reductions
• Commercial management of overall cost to business of all aspects supply, both direct and indirect.
• Assisting in managing and monitoring supply KPI processes to achieve supplier performance targets
• Develop and maintain effective relationships across various department stakeholders.· Travel
What you’ll need to succeed
• Experience in a similar strategic Purchasing / Procurement function is essential
• Experience within a manufacturing environment would be high advantageous
• A relevant professional qualification in Purchasing (CIPS), or similar graduate qualification is desired
• Proven purchasing experience in conducting key supplier meetings and managing negotiations
• Effective organisational skills and a proven ability to meet target deadlines and timescales
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement influencing overall supply frameworks
• Keen eye for numerical detail, producing accurate data analysis and reports·
• Strong ICT skills, Excel and ERP/MRP systems
