A large and growing family-owned FMCG manufacturer based in Northamptonshire are actively recruiting for a Purchasing Manager to join their busy purchasing team. This person will ensure proteins, packaging and dry materials are acquired at an optimum cost while not compromising quality or user needs.
The Role
Understand the wide packaging needs of the business such as aluminium, caps, cartons, corrugate, print, shrink film and labelling
The business procures a large amount of protein stock and supply base is predominantly Great Britain and Ireland based
This person will have knowledge of the packaging industry (UK & overseas) and ideally the meat sector also
This candidate will ensure the supply base is ’fit for future‘ and also drive change across categories
This candidate will lead the packaging and raw materials category and help review the existing approach
The Candidate
Knowledgeable in the packaging and meat industry ideally
Has experience of best practice sourcing and evaluation techniques
A strong track record in change management and speedy implementation
Engage with stakeholders effectively to deliver results
Able to monitor and report on pricing and provide market intelligence to the business
Develop SLA and KPIs to monitor and measure suppliers against pre-determined targets
Someone who is able to communicate at all levels from the factory floor to the board room
Experience of dry ingredients such as plasma, wheat, STPP, vitamin supplements would be beneficial
