Hays Procurement is delighted to be working in a retained and exclusive partnership with Dunlop Oil and Marine Ltd based in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire who are looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join their team.

Dunlop Oil & Marine are world leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of hoses for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, for both offshore and onshore based operations. Their manufacturing plant in Grimsby, UK, has been in operation for over 60 years and is the largest offshore hose manufacturing facility in the world. The confidence in their ability to continue to meet customer expectations is enhanced by their position as part of the Industrial Fluids Solutions Business Unit of ContiTech, which is a Division of Continental AG.

Your new role
The Purchasing Manager will have a team of 2 direct reports and report into the Head of Finance (Commercial Manger) and will manage all Purchasing activities (Direct & Indirect) for goods and services. This would include the negotiation of contracts, procuring best quality equipment and identifying cost reduction opportunities within group and other UK sites. A key part of the role will be to ensure adequate levels of Stock are maintained to meet demand, ensuring Inventory levels are in line with agreed targets. The Purchasing Manager will also have overall responsibility of supplier management for new and existing suppliers; looking to maintain an approved supplier list.

What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be either degree qualified or CIPS qualified, have extensive experience in a Purchasing environment with a background in managing people; including the setting of KPI’s and identifying purchasing synergies across the Group within the UK and abroad. You will have knowledge of supplier terms and conditions, contract law and tendering processes, have strong negotiation skills and previous experience in using SAP.
