Special Report: UK Metalforming – the slow path to recovery

While many UK businesses last week accused Chancellor Rishi Sunak of doing too little with the Jobs Support Scheme that will kick in once furlough ends on October 31st, the Confederation of British Metalforming, a vital part of the UK manufacturing sector, gave the move a cautious welcome.

The CBM said a very significant number of its members would now keep staff on rather than make them redundant.

Nick Peters spoke to the CBM’s President Steve Morley about this and how it will feature in his members’ ability to regain the losses suffered during the pandemic.
